Breeders Code
Part of the California Hamster Association's mission is to improve the care and health of hamsters.  In keeping with this mission, we encourage all of our members to adhere to the highest standard when raising and particularly breeding their hamsters.  If the breeding does not occur with care in a responsible manner, the babies start life at a disadvantage.

The Internet Hamster Associations of North America (IHANA) has adopted a Code of Care and a Breeders Code which articulate the generally acceptable ethics of keeping and breeding hamsters.  We expect all CHA members to adhere to these codes and require it for all CHA breeders who sell at our shows.  Please review these codes carefully and make sure you understand what it takes to keep and breed responsibly before embarking on such an important endeavor.
